Stockton Hosts NJAIAW & Osprey Open Meets

Meredith Malloy (Hamilton/Hamilton West) and Abad Akhtar (Brigantine/Atlantic City) easily won races on their home turf to lead the Stockton women’s and men’s cross country teams.  Malloy won the NJAIAW Championship by 47 seconds (23:46.33) to lead Stockton to a second-place team finish.  Akhtar won the Osprey Open by 59 seconds (19:14.52) to pace the Osprey men’s squad to a third-place finish.

Overall, four Stockton runners placed in the top 10 of the women’s race.  Behind Malloy, Laura Daniels (Cherry Hill/Cherokee) finished third (25:03.99), Robyn Evangelist (Northfield/Mainland) placed fifth (25:10.16) and Katelyn Robertson (Mullica Hill/Kingsway) was 10th (25:54.42).  In the men’s race, Jim Codianni (Medford/Shawnee) finished 12th (20:58.49) and Jim Karwacki (Florence/Florence) placed 24th (21:36.50) for the Ospreys.
