AMANDA BURKART NAMED NJAC VOLLEYBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Richard Stockton senior outside hitter Amanda Burkart (Cresskill/Cresskill) was named the NJAC Volleyball Player of the Week today.  Burkart received the weekly award for the second time this season and sixth time in his career.  She averaged 3.62 kills and 3.85 digs per set in three Stockton victories during the final week of the regular season.

Burkart started the week with eight kills and eight digs in a sweep of Montclair State on October 28 that clinched first place in the NJAC for the Ospreys.  She then posted two double-doubles in a pair of five-set victories on Saturday.  Burkart notched 16 kills and a season-high 26 digs against Neumann and then registered a season-high 23 kills plus 16 digs against DeSales.

Burkart currently ranks sixth in the NJAC in kills (2.89 kpg) and 10th in digs (3.03 dpg), and she leads Stockton in aces (51).  She is a three-time NJAC All-Conference selection who was named to the NJAC First Team in 2007 and 2006.  Burkart ranks third all-time at Stockton in kills (1,578) and service aces (229) and fifth all-time in digs (1,374).
