Stockton 79, Mount St. Mary (NY) 54

Richard Stockton (2-0) won the Frank Lospitalier Classic with a 79-54 victory over tournament-host Mount St. Mary (NY).  Michael Farrow (Whitesboro/Middle Twp.) led the Ospreys with 20 points and a career-high nine rebounds.  Farrow was named the tournament MVP.  Omar Smith (Newark/Central) scored 14 points, all in the second half, and Santini Lancioni (Runnemede/Triton) contributed 11 points and tied his career high with seven assists.

Lancioni scored 10 points in the first six minutes to spark the Ospreys to an early 16-4 lead.  Stockton’s advantage ballooned to 25-9 after a three-pointer by Isham Poe (Westville/Deptford) with 9:21 on the clock, but Mount St. Mary outscored the Ospreys 20-8 the rest of the half and trimmed Stockton’s lead to 33-29 at the break.  Lancioni and Farrow scored 10 first-half points apiece for the Ospreys.

After Mount St. Mary closed the gap to two points twice in the first minute of the second half, Stockton began to gradually pull away.  Smith scored five consecutive points to put the Ospreys on top 58-43 with 9:37 remaining.  Mount St. Mary netted a layup, but Stockton responded with 7-0 run, including four points by Farrow, for a 65-45 lead on the way to the 79-54 victory.  Chad Davis (Millville/Sacred Heart) and Jerome Hubbard (Neptune/Neptune) joined MVP Farrow on the All-Tournament Team.
