Stockton 80, Widener 66

Richard Stockton (5-1) used balanced scoring with five players in double figures to defeat Widener (4-2) 80-66.  Santini Lancioni (Runnemede/Paul VI) and Kai Massaquoi (Lawnside/Haddon Hts.) led the Ospreys with 14 points apiece.  Isham Poe (Westville/Deptford) tallied 13 points and a team-high eight rebounds while Jerome Hubbard (Neptune/Neptune) also scored 13 points.  Omar Smith (Newark/Central) completed the quintet of double-digit scorers with 10 points.

After trailing for the first four minutes, Stockton later opened up a 26-16 lead on a jumper by Kevin Brown (Neptune/Neptune) that capped a seven-point run for the Ospreys.  Stockton briefly led by 10 on two more occasions, but Widener trimmed the lead to just one, 40-39 at the half.  Massaquoi led the way with nine points and Lancioni contributed seven markers.

In the second half, Smith scored four consecutive points to ignite a 14-2 run that turned Stockton’s narrow 52-50 lead into a 66-52 advantage with 10:20 on the clock.   Lancioni and Poe also scored four points apiece during the spurt.  Widener closed the gap to six points with 7:45 on the clock, but Poe netted seven more points down the stretch as the Ospreys protected their lead and won for the fifth time in six games, 80-66.
