13th-ranked Richard Stockton (12-2, 2-1) saw its nine-game winning streak snapped with a 79-73 defeat in an NJAC road game at College of New Jersey (5-6, 1-1). Santini Lancioni (Runnemede/Paul VI) scored a team-high 18 points for the Ospreys, followed by Omar Smith (Newark/Central) with 16 points and Kevin Brown (Neptune/Neptune) with 15 points. Defensively, Stockton allowed a season-high 79 points and forced a season-low 11 turnovers.

After trailing by as much as nine points, the Ospreys took their first lead of the game at 33-31 on a jumper by Brown with 2:48 left in the first half. TCNJ answered with a basket, but then Brown and Michael Farrow (Whitesboro/Middle Twp.) sank consecutive layups for a four-point Stockton lead. A late basket by the Lions resulted in a 37-35 Stockton advantage at the break. Lancioni and Brown carried the Stockton offense with 10 first-half points apiece.

Smith scored the first three points of the second half and then Isham Poe (Westville/ Deptford) converted a three-point play that increased Stockton’s lead to 43-35. TCNJ took the game over and outscored the Ospreys by 20 points over the next 12 minutes, leaving Stockton with a 75-63 deficit at the 4:13 mark. Lancioni scored six points during a 10-0 run that pulled the Ospreys within 75-73 with 1:06 to play, but the Lions went 4-4 at the line and Stockton missed its final four shots in the 79-73 defeat.
