14th-ranked Richard Stockton (15-2, 4-1) edged Montclair State (11-5, 4-2) 69-63 in an NJAC road game for its third consecutive win. Jerome Hubbard (Neptune/Neptune) hit five three-pointers and led the Ospreys with team highs of 20 points and six rebounds. Santini Lancioni (Runnemede/Paul VI) scored 16 points, followed by Omar Smith (Newark/Central) with 11 markers and Michael Farrow (Whiteside/Middle Twp.) with 10 points plus a team-high five assists.

Neither team led by more than six points during a game that was close from start to finish. The contest featured 15 lead changes and nine ties. Farrow converted a three-point play with 3:26 remaining that snapped a 57-57 tie and gave Stockton the lead for good. Leading by just one point with 1:01 remaining, Hubbard drained a three-pointer that put the Ospreys on top 65-61. Lancioni followed a Montclair turnover with two free throws and Stockton went on to the 69-63 triumph.

Montclair scored the first six points of the game for its biggest lead all day, 6-0. Stockton later took six-point advantages twice in the last 4:15 of the first half on three-pointers by Hubbard, and the Ospreys settled for a 30-26 lead at intermission. Stockton opened up a 45-40 lead on a jumper by Farrow with 13:35 to play, and the five-point gap would be the largest margin until the final 37 seconds. There were six lead changes in the last 12 minutes before the Ospreys closed the game with a 12-6 run to seal the win.
