Boxscore
Five players reached the double-digit mark in scoring as No. 12 Richard Stockton (19-2, 8-1) defeated Rutgers-Newark (12-9, 5-4) 73-67 at home. Santini Lancioni (Runnemede/Paul VI) led all scorers and set a new career high, tallying 23 points in the game. Stockton received another stellar effort off the bench from Michael Farrow (Whitesboro/Middle Twp), as the sophomore guard tossed in 15 points. Farrow has reached the double digit mark in each of Stockton’s last six games, all victories.

Jerome Hubbard (Neptune/Neptune) and Isham Poe (Westville/ Deptford) each scored 11 points and Omar Smith (Newark/Central) added 10 points. Poe also recorded a career high in rebounds as the junior forward snatched nine boards in the game, including three on the offensive glass.

In the first half, Lancioni gave the Ospreys their biggest lead of 32-20 on a layup with four minutes left. Despite a late run by Rutgers-Newark, Stockton was able to maintain a comfortable 35-27 lead heading into the halftime locker room. Lancioni paced the Ospreys with 12 first-half points.

In the second half, Stockton jumped out on a 12-3 run in the first six minutes, extending the lead to 47-30, the Ospreys’ largest of the game. Hubbard and Lancioni tallied four points apiece during the spurt. Another late run by the Scarlet Raiders closed the gap down the stretch, however Stockton made enough foul shots to secure the 73-67 victory. The Ospreys went 21-32 from the charity stripe in the game.
