KELLY DODD NAMED NJAC SOFTBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK |
Richard Stockton junior first baseman Kelly Dodd (Linwood/ Mainland) was named the NJAC Softball Player of the Week. Dodd went 7-11 (.636) with four extra-base hits, eight RBI and three runs scored in four victories by the Ospreys last week. She earned the first NJAC weekly award of her career for her efforts. Stockton has an 11-3 record, including a five-game winning streak, and Dodd has started 13 of her team’s 14 games.
Dodd began the week by going 2-3 with a double and two RBI as Stockton pounded Hunter 9-2 in the first game of a doubleheader on March 24. Although she went hitless in the nightcap, the Ospreys completed the sweep 9-1. On Saturday, Dodd was a perfect 5-5 with a double, triple, home run and six RBI in a sweep of Rutgers-Newark by scores of 10-0 and 16-3. The first baseman also scored three runs in the twinbill. Dodd is batting .366 with a team-high total of 17 RBI that is tied for second in the NJAC. Stockton’s cleanup hitter, Dodd also is tied for second in the league with three home runs and fifth with a .707 slugging percentage. Seven of her 15 hits have gone for extra bases, including three doubles and one triple to go along with her three homers. |
