Richard Stockton (13-14, 2-11) dropped both ends of an NJAC doubleheader against Montclair State, falling 16-8 in the opener and 8-3 in the nighcap. Dan McGuckin (Sicklerville/Winslow Twp.) went 2-3 with a home run and three RBI while Matt Allen (Salem/Woodstown) was 2-4 with a run and an RBI in the opener. Scott Fisher (Toms River/TR East) tied the school record with his ninth home run of the season.

Montclair State led 6-0 early and broke the game open with seven runs in the top of the fifth for a 13-0 score before McGuckin smacked a two-run homer in the bottom of the fifth. McGuckin also added an RBI single as part of a three-run sixth frame for the Ospreys. Stockton plated three more runs in the seventh inning on an RBI single by Allen and a two-run homer off the bat of Fisher, but the Ospreys were overwhelmed 16-8.

Jay Merulla (Logan Twp./Kingsway) went 3-4 with a run and an RBI while Allen was 2-4 in the nightcap. With Stockton trailing 3-0, Merulla stroked an RBI single in the fourth inning to get the Ospreys on the board. Montclair plated a run in the top of the seventh, but Nick Scalise (Northfield/Mainland) slugged his first career home run, a two-run shot, in the bottom half to pull Stockton within 4-3. Montclair clinched the game with four runs in the top of the ninth and defeated the Ospreys 8-3.
