Richard Stockton head coach Dick Rizk was named the Skyline Conference Coach of the Year and five Ospreys collected All-Skyline Conference honors. Senior attack Keith Bologno (Glen Gardner/Voorhees) and junior midfielder Matt Bell (Jackson/ Jackson) were named to the All-Skyline First Team. Senior defender Ian Muchanic (Kendall Park/South Brunswick), junior attack Josh Dybus (Lyndhurst/St. Peter’s Prep) and junior long-stick middie Chris Thomas (Toms River/TR South) were voted to the All-Skyline Second Team. Bologno earned his second consecutive First Team nod and third all-conference selection overall after scoring 33 goals and leading Stockton in assists (28) and points (61). He finished his season as the league leader in points per game (4.36) while also ranking second in the Skyline in assists per game (2.00) and fourth in goals per game (2.36). Bologno was named the Skyline Conference Player of the Week twice during the season. Bell ascended to the Skyline First Team after receiving a spot on the Second Team last year. He scored 23 goals and dished 23 assists for 46 points to finish tied with Dybus for second on the team. Bell also finished third in the Skyline in assists per game (1.64). Dybus netted a team-high 34 goals and handed out 12 assists for his 46 points. He ended the season second in the league in goals per game (2.43) and tied with Bell for fifth in points per game (3.29). Dybus was named the Skyline Conference Player of the Week on April 21. Muchanic ended his career as a three-time all-conference selection for the Ospreys. The defender led Stockton with 21 caused turnovers, finished third on the team with 44 ground balls and registered one assist at the offensive end. As the long-stick midfielder, Thomas also keyed the defense with 51 ground balls, second on the team, and 11 caused turnovers to go along with a goal and three assists on offense. Rizk was named the Skyline Conference Coach of the Year by his peers for leading the Ospreys to a 9-5 overall record and second place in the league with a 4-1 mark in his final season at Stockton. Rizk, whose previously-announced retirement took effect at the end of the season, was given a lifetime achievement award at the Skyline coaches meeting. The New Jersey Lacrosse Hall of Famer posted a 140-116 record in 18 seasons at Stockton and coached for over 40 years at the high school and college levels combined. |
