SCOTT FISHER NAMED TO ABCA/RAWLINGS MID-ATLANTIC REGION FIRST TEAM

Richard Stockton pitcher/first baseman Scott Fisher (Toms River/TR East) was named to the ABCA/Rawlings Mid-Atlantic Region First Team for the second consecutive year. The squad was chosen by the American Baseball Coaches Association. Fisher led the Ospreys in most of the offensive and pitching statistical categories. As a Mid-Atlantic First Team selection, the senior will be on the ballot for All-American honors.

Fisher led the NJAC in slugging percentage (.876) and tied for the conference lead in home runs (school-record 12) while also ranking second in the league in batting (.446) and on-base percentage (.542). The lefty slugger also paced Stockton with team highs of 47 RBI, 42 runs, a school-record 16 doubles and 26 walks as a starter in all 32 games for the Ospreys.

On the mound, Fisher went 3-3 with team bests of 48 strikeouts, 45.1 innings pitched and a 3.97 ERA. He was named to the NJAC First Team and ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District II First Team this spring. Last year, Fisher became Stockton’s first baseball All-American with his selection to the ABCA/Rawlings All-America Second Team. He also was voted to the Mid-Atlantic First Team and named the NJCBA Division II/III Player of the Year in 2008.
