Boxscore The back-to-back Stockton goals allowed the Ospreys to rally from an early 1-0 deficit that resulted from Stevens capitalizing on a defensive miscue just 8:23 into the game. O’Shea scored on a header from a free kick by Melissa Scully (Gloucester Twp./Highland) at 24:39 and the match was knotted 1-1 at the half. Pocoroba’s goal, assisted by O’Shea, later gave the Ospreys a 2-1 lead with 22:34 remaining. Stockton was less than seven minutes from victory when Stevens rallied into a 2-2 tie and forced overtime. Late in the OT, Stevens was whistled for a handball in the box and Dougherty buried the penalty kick inside the left post for the 2-1 triumph. Stockton goalkeeper Maria Dorris (Mantua/Clearview) made two saves in the win. |
