Five different players scored as Richard Stockton (6-1, 1-0) opened its New Jersey Athletic Conference schedule with a 6-0 victory over New Jersey City (5-2-1, 0-1). Rafael Duarte (Ocean City/Ocean City) scored twice to lead the Ospreys to their fourth consecutive shutout win. Stockton has not allowed a goal in the last 365 minutes. Freshman Devin Reilley (Woodstown/St. Augustine) opened the scoring 6:09 into the first half with his first career goal on beautiful passes from Sean Nelson (Toms River/TR South) and Sean McCallum (Vineland/Vineland). Just five minutes later, Duarte got his first tally of the day on a helper from Nelson. Sal Pistone (Blackwood/ Highland) scored in his third straight game, on a header from a corner kick by Pat Tolomeo (Ocean City/Ocean City). Butch Huff (Toms River/TR North) rocketed in a shot on a pass from Chris Hayman (Pittsgrove/Schalick) to make it 4-0 at the break. Hayman, a freshman, tallied his first college goal just 7:05 into the second half on McCallum’s second assist of the game and Duarte finished the scoring on a cross from Reilley at 65:14. Anthony Pompei (Hamilton/Hamilton West) made three saves for his third shutout of the season and the Osprey defense only allowed seven shots for the game. Pompei has not allowed a goal in his last 275 minutes. |
