SEAN NELSON SELECTED TO ESPN THE MAGAZINE ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT TEAM |
Richard Stockton junior Sean Nelson (Toms River/TR South) was named to the 2009 ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District II Men’s Soccer Third Team. Nelson is a history major at Stockton with an impressive 3.76 grade point average. The midfielder has started 20 of 21 games for the Ospreys this season and missed one match due to injury. Nelson has scored four goals and dished six assists, tied for the team lead, for a total of 14 points.
Nelson was one of two NJAC players to earn Academic All-District II honors this year. In three seasons at Stockton, he has scored nine goals and dished 16 assists for 34 points in 57 games for the Ospreys. Nelson also finished second on the team with six assists a year ago. The Academic All-District and Academic All-America teams are chosen by members of the College Sports Information Directors Association (CoSIDA). The College Division consists of NCAA Division II, III and NAIA institutions, with District II encompassing schools in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Washington D.C. |
