Seminar Description

Join us for this half-day seminar designed to update criminal justice professionals on important changes regarding the National Academy of Sciences’ Report ‘s impact on the forensic science field in general and fingerprint identification in particular. The seminar will present crucial information for law enforcement officials and professionals who work in the Prosecutors Office.

Seminar Objectives

• Error rates in fingerprint examinations and testifying to absolute
certainty
• Fingerprint examinations and testimony post-Daubert and the issues caused by
recent high profile erroneous identifications
• The function of Live Scan and why fingerprints are vital to the criminal justice
records system

Certificate in Homeland Security and Disaster Preparedness
(Program begins on November 6, 2010)

The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey Division of Continuing Studies Certificate in Homeland Security and Disaster Preparedness is a 135 contact hour non-credit, blended certificate program offered with the busy professional in mind. 

The program consists of four blended, online and classroom based, courses covering critical aspects of homeland security and emergency management, including:

  • Domestic and International Terrorism
  • Risk Assessment
  • Psychological and Mental Health Aspects of Security and Emergency Management
