  1. Preceptors Resource Manual
    Access the pdf file to find such information as the academic calendar, math skills advising, General Studies requirements, transfer credits, grade point averages, academic probation, and more.
     
  2. Fall 2009 Brown Bag Advising Colloquia
    In order to facilitate more advisor development opportunities at Stockton, the Center for Academic Advising and the Stockton Advising Council are sponsoring a series of Brown Bag Advising Colloquia.  This semester's topics include "Advising:  Telling Our Stories," "Advising Scenes for Learning and Reflection," and "Advising Students in Distress:  What Do I Do?"  Click here to access the full brochure.  
       
  3. National Academic Advising Association (NACADA)
    Access this site for many advising resources.  NACADA has much information concerning  the First Year Experience, theory and philosophy of advising, advising issues, advising as teaching, and state, regional, and national conferences.
     
  4. The Advising Syllabus
    Many preceptors are using the advising syllabus to help frame their advising relationship with their preceptees.  When viewed as teaching, advising has many similarities to classroom teaching and the syllabus can help set expectations for both preceptor and preceptee.  Click  for information and examples of advising syllabi.  Samples of Stockton syllabi:  Dollarhide; Levy, von der Luft.
     
  5. Declaration of Major/Change of Preceptor Form
    This form should be signed by a faculty member when a student declares a new major or changes to a new preceptor.
     
  6. How to Run a Banner CAPP Degree Evaluation
    Instructions on how to perform a Banner CAPP degree evaluation through the goStockton portal. CAPP degree evaluations can be run on any student in the college when you enter the secure site. By running an evaluation you can see the student’s progress to the degree, including program and cognate requirements, General Studies, At-Some-Distance courses, and the Writing, Quantitative and Outcomes requirements.
     
  7. CAPP Adjustments for an Individual Student 
    Instructions
    and a print and fill form for making adjustments to a student’s degree program. The form must be returned to Academic Advising in D108.
