New Jersey's Green University
Sustainability Initiative

The Clean Air-Cool Planet on-line Campus Climate Action Toolkit (CCAT) aims to make available to anyone who is interested in making his/her educational institution more "climate friendly" - college or university students, staff, faculty, administrators, trustees, alumni, community members - a comprehensive guide to and resource for doing so.

The American College & University Presidents Climate Commitment is a high-visibility effort to address global warming by garnering institutional commitments to neutralize greenhouse gas emissions, and to accelerate the research and educational efforts of higher education to equip society to re-stabilize the earth’s climate.

Stockton became a signatory of the ACCUPC in 2007, and filed its first Greenhouse Gas Inventory Report in 2009. Plans to move the institution towards climate neutrality are being developed.

The New Jersey Higher Education Partnership for Sustainability works to transform the higher education community to consistently practice sustainability and to more effectively contribute to the world's emerging understanding of sustainability through teaching, research and outreach.

Stockton was a founding member of New Jersey HEPS and has been consistently represented on its Executive Committee. Stockton has contributed to the work of the Energy Technical Team and has hosted meetings that included tours, expert speakers and policy discussions.
