Welcome to New Jersey’s “Distinctive Public University.”
Since our founding in 1969, Stockton University has remained committed to its mission of excellence in teaching, commitment to scholarship, and dedication to service. We pursue these goals through an interdisciplinary approach to learning that provides students with a high-quality, diverse educational experience – at the baccalaureate, master’s, and doctoral levels.
We proudly offer the academic, technological, and cultural advantages of a large institution combined with the community spirit of a small liberal arts college. Our main campus in Galloway, New Jersey includes over 2,000 pristine acres within the Pinelands National Reserve, and is home to two beautiful lakes, scenic nature paths, and wildlife indigenous to the region. We are easily accessible from the Garden State Parkway and Atlantic City Expressway, and within easy driving distance from New York City, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington, D.C.
This year, Stockton was granted “University” status by the state of New Jersey. Our new name more accurately describes our evolution as an institution of higher learning. With more than 40 programs of study, and 8,700 students, we have become a highly-regarded institution in the northeast U.S. Stockton is consistently ranked among the Best Universities/Master’s in the North by U.S. News and World Report, is regularly selected as one of Princeton Review’s Best Northeastern Colleges, and has been named to Kiplinger’s Personal Finance’s list of 100 best values in public colleges.
Stockton is pledged to offering new educational opportunities throughout the South Jersey region. In the Fall of 2015, we will break ground on two new buildings on the main campus: the Unified Science Center 2, which will support our popular science and mathematics programs; and an additional academic/classroom building. Both buildings will help transform our campus as we take the next steps toward completion of Stockton’s Academic Quad. In addition, we continue to expand our academic and cultural offerings through our instructional sites in Atlantic City, Hammonton, Manahawkin, and Woodbine.
As a member of Stockton’s first graduating class, I can personally attest to the quality of education and wonderful opportunities available through Stockton University. Please take time to explore our web site and learn more about our academic programs, student services, and campus life. We encourage you to explore everything our site has to offer.
