A Couple of Blaguards
Saturday • March 23 • 2:00 pm
Frank McCourt and Malachy McCourt’s "A Couple of Blaguards" is an autobiographical account of their years growing up in poverty in Ireland. Though times were tough in Limerick, the tales spun by the brothers McCourt simmer with bittersweet recollections, ferocious humor and a parade of colorful characters — from the priest who warns of sinners’ eyeballs exploding in Hell to the McCourt grandmother who spits on Franks’ unruly Presbyterian hair to tame it.
"MEMORABLE! The brothers McCourt bring their two best selling books to the stage...the show has a roguish appeal."

Rachmaninoff: Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor, Op. 18
Matt Bengtson, piano
Rachmaninoff’s most celebrated work, the 2nd Piano Concerto, is gushing with lyricism and gorgeous melody. One of the Delaware Valley’s favorite pianists, Matt Bengtson, joins the Bay-Atlantic Symphony for the first time. This piece poured forth from Rachmaninoff’s pen as spontaneous inspiration in overcoming writer’s block. In the program, its life-affirmation answers some of the most hauntingly beautiful, mind-bending pieces of spiritual and philosophic questioning in the literature: Ives’ Unanswered Question and Schubert’s Unfinished Symphony.

Christopher O'Riley
Sunday • April 14 • 2:00 pm
From his groundbreaking transcriptions of Radiohead, Elliott Smith and Nick Drake to his unforgettably sublime interpretations of the Classical canon, pianist Christopher O’Riley has stretched the piano beyond conventional boundaries.
Mr. O’Riley has taken his unique vision to both traditional classical music venues and symphonic settings, as well as to entirely new audiences on the radio, at universities and even clubs. As host of the popular classical music radio show, National Public Radio’s From The Top, Mr. O’Riley works and performs with the next generation of brilliant young musicians, demonstrating to audiences that these young artists are as interesting and diverse in their personal lives as they are in their music-making.

Janis Ian
Sunday • April 21 • 2:00 pm
Ian is a formidable talent, a force of nature. Ella Fitzgerald called her "The best young singer in America." Chet Atkins said, "Singer? You ought to hear that girl play guitar; she gives me a run for my money!" Reviewers have called her live performances "overwhelming to the spirit and soul," and "drenched with such passion, the audience feels they’ve been swept up in a hurricane."
Who are the great songwriters in America today? Not the most popular. Not the richest. Simply the greats. Ask any student of the form, and Janis Ian will be counted among them.
