Welcome to the online home of The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey Foundation. The Foundation was established in 1972 by friends of the College to provide philanthropic support for the financial needs of the Stockton College. Today, our mission is to raise, steward, and distribute funds in support of Stockton and its students. We have done this by raising dollars in support of academic programming and faculty research. Our primary focus is to support Stockton's students by providing scholarships and financial aid. |

In 2005, I was appointed to the Foundation Board of Directors, a group of autonomous volunteers, who are committed to furthering the mission and goals of The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey. The Foundation has grown as the College has grown. Fundraising has advanced from humble beginnings such as yard sales to hosting Scholarship Benefit Galas that have recently raised upwards of $600,000 in support of student scholarships. The work of those early Foundation Board members created a solid footing on which we have grown. Ten years ago the Foundation assets totaled less than $3 million. Today, those assets are nearing $15 million.
The need for our work has always been important; never more than it is now. Seventy-three percent (73%) of students receive financial aid and 80% hold down a job in order to cover the cost of their education. Even with this, students average more than $24,000 of student loan debt when the graduate. Recent nationwide economic challenges are making things even more difficult for students. Last academic year the College had 200 students qualifying under Federal guidelines as being in need of emergency funding because of a financial catastrophe in the family. The College and the Foundation respond as best as we can to these students and their families, but the level of these hardships exceed our ability to do all we believe should be done to ensure their education. We will continue in the tradition of those Foundation Board members who have come before us to reach higher to assist our students and College.
