EMERGENCY CLOSINGS
It is a rare occurrence for the college to close due to weather conditions. However, during times of adverse weather conditions or other emergencies, it is your responsibility to listen for emergency broadcast announcements.
In the event of a reported emergency closing of the college, all essential employees are to report to work as scheduled. Employees have been notified of their status in accordance with union contracts or by their supervisor based on institutional priority.
In the event of severe weather or other types of emergencies, area radio stations will announce one of three conditions for Stockton.
COMPLETE SHUT-DOWN OF THE INSTITUTION:
1 - The Governor may order the closing of all state facilities, or the President may order the shutdown of Stockton College. Essential employees have to report to work.
CANCELLATION OF CLASSES:
2 - President Saatkamp may order the cancellation of classes for the day. In this situation the institution remains open because of the large number of students living on campus. Employees may still be required to report to work
DELAYED OPENING:
3 - President Saatkamp may order a delayed opening. In this situation the late opening time will coincide with the beginning of a class module. Students will report to the class that ordinarily convenes at that time. Employees are to report to work at the time of the opening.
The radio stations listed below will carry Stockton's announcements. Stockton has been assigned School Number 2913 and will be referred to by this number (not by name) on Philadelphia station KYW AM). All other stations will refer to Stockton by name.
