Richard Stockton (12-9-1) saw its 2009 season come to an end with a 3-2 loss to Drew (10-5-5) in the ECAC Metro semifinals. Rafael Duarte (Ocean City/Ocean City), the 2009 NJAC Offensive Player of the Year, netted both Stockton goals and Ospreys’ goalkeeper Lou Herring (Neptune/Neptune) registered two saves. Stockton suffered its second consecutive overtime defeat and fourth OT loss of the season, finishing 1-4-1 in games that went beyond regulation.

Duarte’s first goal came unassisted and gave Stockton a 1-0 lead at 54:09, but Drew scored a pair of goals just 2:56 apart to pull ahead 2-1. Duarte struck again on a header from a corner kick that was served by Sean Nelson (Toms River/TR North) with 4:58 remaining to tie the game at 2-2 and force overtime. Drew connected for the game-winner with 1:34 left in the first OT to win the game and end Stockton’s season with a 12-9-1 record.
