Stockton Women Third, Men Fifth at NJAC Championships

Richard Stockton finished third on the women’s side and fifth on the men’s side in the NJAC Championships at New York Armory. Mahogany Mitchell (Atlantic City/Atlantic City) was named the Co-Outstanding Female Field Athlete after winning the weight throw and setting new meet and school records (15.15m). Lisa Shepherd (Mays Landing/Oakcrest) won the high jump for the fourth consecutive year and posted an NCAA provisional qualifying height (1.68m).

Abad Akhtar (Brigantine/Atlantic City) was the lone event winner for the Stockton men’s team, capturing the 5000m (15:39.23). Chris Huch (Tuckerton/Pinelands) finished second in the high jump (1.98m) while Demetrius Rooks (Galloway/Absegami) placed second and set a school record in the 400m (49.01 seconds).

The women’s 4x800 relay of Robyn Evangelist (Northfield/ Mainland), Katherine Rudy (Bound Brook/Bound Brook), Rachel Carlson (Mullica Twp./Oakcrest) and Nicole Salge (Spotswood/Spotswood) also earned second place and set a school record (10:18.50). Evangelist placed third and set a school record in the mile (5:26.67) as well.

Meredith Malloy (Hamilton/Hamilton West) was third in the 5000m (19:14.84) for the Ospreys. Rachel Joseph (Livingston/Livingston) finished third in the pole vault (3.35m) and Amanda Williams (Williamstown/Williamstown) was third in the high jump (1.53m). Ben Hammond (Williamstown/Williamstown) placed third in the triple jump (13.63m) for the Stockton men’s team.
