Game 1 / Game 2
Richard Stockton (9-7) split a doubleheader against Penn State Abington (3-11), winning the first game 12-2 and then dropping the nightcap 4-3 in nine innings. In the opener, Matt Allen (Salem/Woodstown) and Jason Gordon (Brick/Brick Memorial) paced the Ospreys with three hits apiece. Allen, Gordon, Barry Larro (Cedarville/Cumberland) and Chris Discher (Cherry Hill/CH West) each drove in two runs.

Zach Brebner (Toms River/TR North) picked up his first win of the season, pitching five strong innings and allowing just one run on three hits with five strikeouts. Stockton broke open a close contest with six runs in the fourth inning and another four markers in the fifth for the 12-2 rout.

In the second game, Chris LaVoie (Manahawkin/Southern) went seven innings, allowing just one unearned run, but did not get the decision. Stockton was held without a hit until Chris Wedding (Toms River/TR East) singled in the fifth inning. The Ospreys later tied the game at one apiece in the bottom of the seventh on Wedding’s RBI double.

After each team scored a run in the eighth, Penn State Abington took advantage of two Stockton errors to plate two runs in the ninth. Stockton got one back in the bottom half of the inning on Allen’s RBI single but fell short 4-3. Wedding and Allen each finished 2-5 with an RBI in the game.
