Richard Stockton (10-9, 0-1) stayed close but fell to ninth-ranked Kean (13-5, 1-0) 5-3 in the NJAC opener for both teams. The Ospreys jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the third inning as Jason Gordon (Brick/Brick Memorial) sparked the outburst with and RBI double. Chris Discher (Cherry Hill/ CH West) added an RBI single and Chris Wedding (Toms River/TR East) produced an RBI on a fielder’s choice as Gordon scored on the play.

Kean rallied with three runs in the bottom of the third for a 3-3 tie and the Cougars added single runs in the fourth and fifth frames for the 5-3 final. Stockton was held scoreless over the last six innings and only four Ospreys reached base during that span. Gordon finished 2-4 with a double, run and an RBI while Barry Larro (Cedarville/Cumberland) was 2-3 with a run scored in the game.
