Richard Stockton (13-12, 3-4) snapped Rowan’s (15-7, 7-1) seven-game winning streak and dealt the Profs their first NJAC loss, 6-4. Stockton pitcher Chris LaVoie (Manahawkin/ Southern) propelled the Ospreys to victory, allowing just two runs (one unearned) on 10 hits with three strikeouts in seven innings pitched to improve to 3-0 this season.

Nick Scalise (Northfield/Mainland) blasted a solo home run in the bottom of the second inning that snapped a 2-2 tie and gave the Ospreys the lead for good. Stockton added two unearned runs on a bases-loaded walk to Barry Larro (Cedarville/Cumberland) and a fielder’s choice RBI by Mike Wasco (Riverside/Riverside) in the sixth inning. Dan McGuckin (Sicklerville/Winslow Twp.) singled and scored unearned on a throwing error in the seventh for a 6-2 lead.

Rowan plated two runs in the ninth frame and got the tying run to first base with one out, but Stockton recorded the final two outs with runners at the corners for the 6-4 victory. Matt Allen (Salem/Woodstown) went 3-5 with an RBI while Scalise finished 2-4 including the solo home run.
