Ospreys Win Two Events at Penn Relays

Richard Stockton track & field team members competed in seven events and posted two victories at the Penn Relays. Freshman Jill Shaner (Egg Harbor Twp./EHT) won the College Women’s Javelin with a personal-best throw of 46.71 meters, which is also a school record. Shaner took the lead on her first throw and stayed in front for the entire competition, unleashing her eventual winning effort in round five.

Robyn Evangelist (Northfield/Mainland), Katherine Rudy (Bound Brook/Bound Brook), Nikki Stratton (Stratford/ Sterling) and Shelley Gibney (Shamong/Seneca) won the College Women’s 4x400 CTC with a time of 3:58.74 that shattered the school record by nearly five seconds. Lisa Shepherd (Mays Landing/Oakcrest) tied her personal best and school record of 1.70 meters, placing 11th in the College Women’s High Jump Eastern.

Demetrius Rooks (Galloway/Absegami) ran a personal-best and school-record 53.70 seconds and finished 16th out of 43 in the College Men’s 400m Hurdles Championship. Chris Huch (Tuckerton/Pinelands) placed 11th out of 27 in the College Men’s High Jump Eastern at 2.00 meters. Stockton also finished eighth in the College Men’s 4x400 CTC (3:26.89) and 66th in the College Men’s 4x100 (43.53 seconds).
