Richard Stockton (19-19) was eliminated from the NJAC tournament with a 10-7 defeat to Rowan (24-13-1) in a loser’s bracket game. Mike Wasco (Riverside/Riverside), Matt Allen (Salem/Woodstown) and Nick Scalise (Northfield/Mainland) each tallied two hits and an RBI for the Ospreys. Allen extended his hitting streak to 14 games with a single in the third inning. Jason Gordon (Brick/Brick) and Marc Asta (Jackson/Jackson) also boosted hitting streaks to 11 and nine games respectively.

The Ospreys took a 2-0 lead in the second inning as Scalise stroked an RBI single and Wasco later scored an unearned run. Stockton led 3-1 after a sacrifice fly by Wasco in the top of the third inning but Rowan answered with four runs in the bottom half and pulled ahead 5-3. The Ospreys loaded the bases in the fourth inning before Allen was hit by a pitch for one run and Barry Larro (Cedarville/Cumberland) walked for another, tying the game at 5-5.

After Rowan took a 6-5 lead in the sixth inning, Stockton tied the score again at 6-6 on an RBI single by Gordon in the top of the seventh. Rowan broke the deadlock in the bottom of the eighth as an error extended the inning and resulted in four runs. The Ospreys were unable to rally again, scoring once in the top of the ninth before falling short 10-7.
