Stockton 15, Farmingdale State 14 (OT)

Matt Bologno (Glen Gardner/Voorhees) scored with 44 seconds left in overtime to give third-seeded Richard Stockton (7-6) a 15-14 victory over second-seeded Farmingdale State (11-7) in the ECAC Mid-Atlantic semifinals. Matt Bell (Jackson/ Jackson) led the Ospreys with four goals and three assists while Josh Dybus (Lyndhurst/St. Peter’s Prep) added four goals and two assists. Bologno finished with four goals and one assist and Pete Marcelliano (Morristown/West Morris Mendham) made 15 saves.

The game was tied 11 times and Stockton led by two goals twice in the third period for the largest margin of the contest. The Ospreys then rallied twice in the fourth quarter to knot the score. Farmingdale State took a 13-12 lead with 12:20 to play but Dybus scored a man-up goal six minutes later for a 13-13 deadlock. The Rams took a 14-13 lead at the 5:05 mark that stood up until Brent Effenberger (Toms River/Msgr. Donovan) netted the tying goal with just 47 seconds left in regulation.

Marcelliano made the only save in sudden-death overtime on a shot from the right side to extend the game. Bell later fed Bologno for the game-winning goal with 44 seconds remaining in the OT period to advance Stockton to the ECAC championship game with the 15-14 triumph.
