Rafael Duarte

Boxscore
Richard Stockton (4-2) dropped a tough road game, 2-1 to New York University (3-1-1). Rafael Duarte (Ocean City/Ocean City) scored in the 69th minute to tie the game, but the Ospreys gave up a late goal at 74:18 that was the difference. Stockton, which was coming off consecutive victories, entered the match ranked 25th in the country by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).

After being outshot 6-1 and trailing 1-0 in the first half, the Ospreys started getting some quality chances in the second stanza and finally broke through. Brian Thomsen (Brick/Msgr. Donovan) fed a ball through to Duarte, whose shot deflected off the goalkeeper’s hands to knot the score. The goal was Duarte’s team-leading fourth of the season. NYU then scored the game-winner just six minutes later to knock off the Ospreys 2-1.
