#13 Rowan 5, Stockton 2

Susie Balidemaj

Boxscore
Richard Stockton (0-7, 0-1 NJAC) hung with 13th-ranked Rowan (4-3, 1-0) for 62 minutes before three late goals spoiled the Ospreys’ upset bid in a 5-2 defeat. Stockton played its first night home game in the program’s history at its new lighted synthetic turf field. Freshman Susie Balidemaj (Hamilton/Hamilton East) fueled Stockton’s upset hopes by scoring both goals for the Ospreys. Goalie Debi O’Kane (Cologne/Absegami) kept the Ospreys close with 14 saves.

Rowan opened the scoring just 1:58 into the game but Balidemaj answered at the 25-minute mark for a 1-1 tie that held up until the second half. After Rowan took a 2-1 at 43:44, Balidemaj responded again just 2:31 later with her fourth marker of the season to knot the game at 2-2. Stockton battled the highly-ranked Profs for over 16 minutes before Rowan pulled ahead with just 7:30 remaining. The go-ahead goal seemed to deflate the Ospreys, who yielded two more tallies in the last three minutes for the 5-2 final.
