Stockton Wins Three on Home Court

Richard Stockton (20-7, 7-0 NJAC) won all three of its matches in round robin play on its home court. The Ospreys started the day with a 25-13, 25-10, 21-25, 25-17 NJAC victory over Kean, led by freshman Nicole Serekian (Mahwah/Mahwah) with 14 kills and Christine Velott (Moorestown/Moorestown) with 12 kills and 10 digs.

With the win, Stockton clinched the top seed and a first-round bye for the upcoming NJAC tournament, which the Ospreys have won for the past two years.

Stockton went on to sweep a pair of non-league matches. The Ospreys rolled over John Jay 25-9, 25-5, 25-8 as Christine Velott (Moorestown/Moorestown) pounded a team-high eight kills. Nicole Ober (Cherry Hill/CH East) scooped 14 digs and Kate Berninger (Midland Park/Midland Park) dished 10 assists.

The Ospreys closed the day with a 25-9, 25-11, 25-13 sweep of Manhattanville. Velott sparked the Stockton offense with 11 kills while Serekian and Kasey Hennecke (Fair Lawn/Fair Lawn) contributed six kills apiece.
