Boxscore
Leah Pocoroba’s (Galloway/Holy Spirit) goal at the 81:33 mark propelled fourth seeded Richard Stockton (12-6-2) to a 1-0 victory over fifth seed New Jersey City (14-7) in the first round of the NJAC tournament. It was the seventh straight year that the Ospreys hosted an NJAC playoff match, while New Jersey City made its first-ever appearance in the conference tournament. Stockton also extended its winning streak to four games with the triumph.

After 81 scoreless minutes of the tense affair, Rachel Carlson (Mullica Twp. /Oakcrest) broke loose near the NJCU goal, where she sent a pass across the goal mouth that Pocoroba put away with 8:27 remaining for the eventual game-winner. New Jersey City drew two corner kicks in the final two minutes, but the Gothic Knights were unsuccessful in their bid to tie the match and Stockton prevailed 1-0.

Ospreys’ goalkeeper Sarah Hinkle (Mullica Hill/Paul VI) made eight saves in posting her third shutout in the last four games and fourth overall. With the win, Stockton advanced to face top-seeded College of New Jersey in the NJAC semifinals, where the Ospreys will try to advance to the NJAC championship for the fourth straight year.
