Sue Newcomb

Sue Newcomb coached four women’s sports during Stockton’s formative years, serving as the first head coach in the history of all four programs.

Newcomb had her best success in volleyball, where she won 362 matches, one NJAC championship and one ECAC title in 23 seasons. She also coached women’s basketball for nine years (1972-81), softball for eight seasons (1973-76, 78-81) and field hockey for three years (1972-75).

Newcomb also held roles as senior woman administrator and assistant director of intercollegiate athletics during her career at Stockton.
