Gwynedd-Mercy jumped out to a 3-0 lead before the Ospreys roared back with three straight goals, two by Effenberger and one by Chris Ordway (Long Valley/West Morris Central), for a 3-3. After the Griffins pulled ahead, Effenberger struck again and the game was tied 4-4 at the half.

Gwynedd-Mercy opened the second-half scoring four minutes in, but freshman Drew Wright (Wallingford, PA/Strath Haven) answered with his first career goal, assisted by Bologno, for a 5-5 tie with 2:16 left in the third period. Gwynedd-Mercy took the game over in the fourth quarter. The Griffins outshot Stockton 16-2 and reeled off five consecutive goals in the last 10 minutes to defeat the Ospreys 10-5.
