Richard Stockton junior Ben Hammond (Williamstown/ Williamstown) earned All-American honors at the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships, which were hosted by Capital University (OH). Hammond finished eighth in the triple jump with a best effort of 14.32 meters to capture the last of the eight All-American slots.

Hammond notched his top jump on the third of his six attempts. The junior made his first career appearance at the NCAA Championships. Hammond earned his trip to the NCAA meet just one week prior by posting a distance of 14.46 meters at the ECAC Championships that gave him the final spot in the 13-competitor field.

Hammond, the 2011 NJAC champion in the triple jump, extended the Stockton track & field program’s streak to 11 straight years with at least one indoor or outdoor All-American (2001-2011). He became Stockton’s first male All-American in indoor track & field since Eric Reissek in 2002 and the Ospreys’ first All-American in the triple jump since Greg Foster in 1988.
