Boxscore
Richard Stockton (0-3) fell to Vassar (1-2) 8-4 in the Ospreys’ first home game of the season and first ever at their new turf field. Chris Ordway (Long Valley/West Morris Central) tallied a goal and an assist.

Drew Wright (Wallingford, PA/Strath Haven), Dan Lamela (Brick/Brick Memorial) and Brent Effenberger (Toms River/ Msgr. Donovan) scored one goal apiece.

Wright and Effenberger netted early goals to give Stockton a 2-0 lead in the first 6:12 of the game, but Vassar answered with four goals in the last seven minutes of the quarter for a 4-2 advantage after one period. Lamela scored the only goal of the second quarter, his first career marker, on a field-long dash to pull the Ospreys within 4-3 at the break.

Vassar dominated the second half, scoring four straight goals while holding Stockton off the board until less than four minutes remained in the game. Ordway finally snapped the lengthy offensive drought on a tally with 3:38 to play, but Stockton was unable to stage a late rally and suffered the 8-4 defeat. Goalkeeper Tim Wolcott (Toms River/TR North) finished with seven saves for the Ospreys.
