Stockton Faces Division I Competition at Monmouth

The Richard Stockton men’s and women’s indoor track & field teams competed against a number of NCAA Division I squads and some Division II and III competitors at the Monmouth Season Opener. There was no team scoring but the Ospreys fared well in several events.

Jill Shaner (Egg Harbor Twp./EHT) finished second in the javelin (38.61m) and the quartet of Meagan Simmons (Manahawkin/Southern), Gina Ridolfo (Vineland/Vineland), Nikki Stratton (Stratford/Sterling) and Robyn Evangelist (Northfield/Mainland) placed second and set a new school record in the 1600m sprint medley (4:18.94).

Evangelist also finished fourth in the 800m (2:19.46) and 1500m (4:48.35). Barbara Prokopiuk (Jackson/Jackson) placed fourth in the 3000m steeplechase (12:26.05) followed by Laura Warren (Bellmawr/Triton) in fifth place (12:36.72).

Stratton was sixth in the 400m (1:01.92) and Simmons finished seventh in the triple jump (10.28m) as well.

Amanda Williams (Williamstown/Williamstown) placed seventh in the high jump (1.57m) and eighth in the triple jump (10.27m). For the Stockton men’s team, Jim Codianni (Medford/Shawnee) finished fourth in the 10,000m (33:24.19) and Dillon Glasser (Mays Landing/ACIT) placed fifth in the 3000m steeplechase (10:17.99).
