Richard Stockton (1-6) fell behind Drew University (4-2) 6-0 in the first 18 minutes and could not recover from the deficit, falling 13-7 on its home field.

Brent Effenberger (Toms River/Msgr. Donovan) paced Stockton with three goals and Matt Bologno (Glen Gardner/ Voorhees) added a goal and an assist. Goalie Tim Wolcott (Toms River/TR North) tied his career-high with 18 saves for the Ospreys.

Drew opened the scoring 2:55 into the game, igniting a six-goal outburst that put Stockton in a 6-0 hole with 3:11 gone in the second quarter. Wade Veselka (Chesterfield/Northern Burlington) finally got Stockton on the board four minutes later, followed by goals from Bologno and Zach Wilkins (Marlton/Cherokee) that cut Drew’s lead in half. The Rangers responded with two goals in the last 1:43 of the period for an 8-3 advantage at the break.

Effenberger netted two straight goals to pull Stockton within 8-5, but a marker later in the period gave Drew a 9-5 lead after three quarters. The Ospreys closed the gap to 10-7 on goals by Effenberger and Drew Wright (Wallingford, PA/Strath Haven) in the fourth period before Drew sealed the outcome with three tallies in the last 3:13 for the 13-7 final.
