Stockton jumped out to a 2-0 first-half lead and defeated Albright 3-1 for its fifth consecutive win. Laura O’Shea (Petersburg/Ocean City), Leanne Ternosky (Roxbury/ Morris Catholic) and Amanda Altman (Beachwood/Toms River South) scored one goal apiece for the Ospreys. Stockton goalkeeper Alex Rogers (Medford/Shawnee) recorded two saves in the winning effort.
O’Shea scored the first goal at 6:03 after getting a short pass from Melissa Scully (Gloucester Twp./Highland) and Ternosky extended Stockton’s lead to 2-0 on a 17-yard shot just 5:09 later. In the second half, Albright took advantage of a miscommunication between Rogers and the Stockton defense to score into an empty net and pull within 2-1 at 48:06. Altman added an insurance goal with an assist by Shelley Gibney (Shamong/Seneca) at 79:15 and the Ospreys went on to the 3-1 victory. |
