Ospreys Compete in Two Events at Penn Relays

Richard Stockton track & field team members competed in two events at the Penn Relays. In the College Women’s 4x400 CTC relay, Robyn Evangelist (Northfield/Mainland), Katherine Rudy (Bound Brook/Bound Brook), Nikki Stratton (Stratford/ Sterling) and Meagan Simmons (Manahawkin/Southern) finished eighth with a time of 4:04.37.

The Ospreys posted their best 4x400 relay time of the season thus far. Evangelist, Rudy and Stratton were three-fourths of a Stockton quartet that won the College Women’s 4x400 CTC relay last year.

Jill Shaner (Egg Harbor Twp./EHT) finished eighth in the College Women’s Javelin Championship with a best throw of 42.48 meters. Shaner competed in the highest bracket of the javelin, facing all NCAA Division I entrants, including some from major universities Penn State, Duke, Florida State and LSU. Shaner made her second appearance in the Penn Relays. The sophomore won the College Women’s Javelin, the lower of the two flights, as a freshman.
