Hammond 20th at Penn Relays; Ospreys Compete at TCNJ

Results: Penn Relays / TCNJ Invitational
Ben Hammond (Williamstown/Williamstown) finished 20th in the College Men’s Triple Jump Eastern at the Penn Relays with a distance of 13.49 meters.

Hammond, a 2011 indoor track & field All-American, competed among 18 NCAA Division I entrants, including student-athletes representing school such as Penn State, Temple and Cornell. He posted a jump of 13:49 meters on his second attempt and fouled on his other two tries.

The Stockton teams competed in the TCNJ Lions Invitational at College of New Jersey. Abad Akhtar (Brigantine/Atlantic City) won the men’s 5000m (15:08.17) for the Ospreys. After competing in the Penn Relays in the morning, Hammond traveled to TCNJ and finished third in the triple jump (13.86m).

Randy Faiges (Bayville/Central Regional) placed fourth in the 3000m steeplechase (10:07.62) while Jack Stephenson (Woodbine/Ocean City) finished fourth in the javelin (57.86m) and Tausmen Dunmore (Vineland/Vineland) was fourth in the triple jump (13.60m). Ryan Mazzeo (Marmora/Ocean City) tied for sixth in the pole vault (4.20m).

Victoria Barden (Bayville/Central Regional) led the Stockton women’s team, tying for second in the high jump (1.61m). Robyn Evangelist (Northfield/Mainland) finished fourth in the 1500m (4:46.42) and sixth in the 800m (2:19.56). Laura Warren (Bellmawr/Triton) was fifth in the 3000m steeplechase (12:15.12). Amanda Williams (Williamstown/ Williamstown) placed sixth in the triple jump (10.67m) and tied for sixth in the high jump (1.56m).
