Stockton Women Fourth, Men Fifth at NJAC Championships

Results
The Richard Stockton women’s track & field team finished fourth with 80 points while the men’s team placed fifth with a score of 42 in the NJAC Championships at Ramapo. The Ospreys won four events at the meet, including three in women’s competition.

Robyn Evangelist (Northfield/Mainland) won the 1500m (4:39.17) and finished second in the 800m (2:14.93). Jill Shaner (Egg Harbor Twp./EHT) easily repeated as the NJAC champion in the javelin (44.46m), winning by over four meters.

Mahogany Mitchell (Atlantic City/Atlantic City) won the hammer throw (46.60m) for the second straight year while Ben Hammond (Williamstown/Williamstown) won the men’s triple jump (14.70m).

The Ospreys fared well in the women’s high jump, with Victoria Barden (Bayville/Central Regional) finishing second (1.65m) followed by Amanda Williams (Williamstown/ Williamstown) in third place (1.58m). Nikki Stratton (Stratford/Sterling) finished second in the long jump (5.20m) for the Ospreys.

For the Stockton men’s team, Abad Akhtar (Brigantine/Atlantic City) placed second in the 1500m (4:02.90) and third in the 5000m (15:48.63). Dillon Glasser (Mays Landing/ACIT) finished fourth in the 3000m steeplechase (10:09.02) and Wes Warriner (Pleasantville/ Holy Spirit) earned fourth place in the hammer throw (43.25m).
