Seven Ospreys Compete in ECAC Championships

Richard Stockton finished tied for 35th out of 58 men's teams and 40th out of 56 women's teams in the two-day ECAC Track & Field Championships at Moravian College. Seven Ospreys competed at the meet.

Ben Hammond (Williamstown/Williamstown) led Stockton by finishing third out of 15 competitors in the men's triple jump (14.29m).

Robyn Evangelist (Northfield/Mainland) placed fifth out of 19 in the women's 1500m (4:33.59). Evangelist provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships with the 15th best time in the nation and broke her own school record by five seconds one week after knocking eight ticks off the previous mark.

Evangelist also finished 19th in the women's 800m (2:18.90), narrowly missing her own school record by just 0.56 seconds.

Amanda Williams (Williamstown/Williamstown) tied for seventh in the women's high jump (1.58m). Mahogany Mitchell (Atlantic City/Atlantic City) finished 11th out of 22 in the women's hammer throw (43.56m) and Jack Stephenson (Woodbine/Ocean City) placed 11th out of 24 in the men's javelin (55.33m).

Abad Akhtar (Brigantine/Atlantic City) broke his own school record by three seconds and finished 13th out of 28 runners in the men's 5000m. Barbara Prokopiuk (Jackson/ Jackson) was 21st in the women's 3000m steeplechase (12:36.49). The ECAC Championships which include participants from throughout the Northeast who have met the minimum qualifying standards during the regular season.
