STOCKTON WINS WITH THREE-GOAL RALLY

Richard Stockton (2-1) erased a two-goal deficit by scoring three times in a 12-minute span of the second half to defeat Swarthmore (1-1) 4-3 in the Ospreys’ first road game of the season. Susie Balidemaj (Hamilton/Steinert) led Stockton with two goals while Nancy White (Ocean City/Ocean City) contributed a goal and two assists.

Nia Jones gave Swarthmore a quick 1-0 lead just 4:33 into the match but Balidemaj scored her first of the game with 21:14 gone and the score was tied 1-1 at the half. Swarthmore pulled ahead in the early moments of the second half with a pair of goals 2:53 apart for a 3-1 edge.

Stockton responded just 83 seconds later as White potted a goal assisted by Alicia Leadbeater (Franklinville/Delsea) to bring the Ospreys within 3-2. Less than five minutes after that, freshman Audrey Lowenstein (Middletown/Middletown South) scored her first career goal, assisted by White, to tie the game at 3-3. Balidemaj gave Stockton its first lead of the game at 4-3 with 9:03 remaining. Balidemaj netted her second marker and White collected her second assist of the day.

Stockton goalkeeper Liz Stankiewicz (Freehold Twp./Freehold Twp.) made two saves and the Ospreys outshot Swarthmore 19-13 in defeating the Garnet 4-3.
