Stockton Unable to Halt TCNJ Win Streak

The College of New Jersey (2-0, 2-0 NJAC) extended its incredible streak of conference victories to 138 since 1982 with a 9-0 shutout of Richard Stockton (1-1, 0-1 NJAC) in an NJAC match.

Sisters Karisse Bendijo of TCNJ and Krystle Bendijo (Egg Harbor Twp./EHT) of Stockton faced off at No. 1 singles, with Karisse, the 2010 NJAC Player of the Year, prevailing 6-1, 6-2.

Deborah Wu, Emily Petersack and Alex Bologno all posted 6-0, 6-0 shutouts for the Lions. Allison Tierney and Paige Aiello notched singles wins by identical 6-1, 6-0 scores for TCNJ as well.

Prior to their singles duel, the Bendijo sisters also squared off at No. 1 doubles. Karisse and Tierney topped Krystle Bendijo and Laura Church (Wall/Ranney School) 8-1 to spark a doubles sweep for TCNJ. Lions’ pairings of Aiello/Wu and Bologno/Petersack each blanked their Stockton opponents 8-0.
