STOCKTON PLAYS 0-0 TIE IN HOME OPENER

Richard Stockton (4-1-2) finally played its home opener after six consecutive road games and the result was a 0-0 tie with Misericordia (1-2-1).

Ospreys’ goalkeeper Sarah Hinkle (Mullica Hill/Paul VI) made four saves and recorded her third shutout of the season.The defensive battle was an evenly played contest in which the teams registered 15 shots apiece.

Stockton had the best scoring chance of the night in the first overtime on a shot from close range by Jessica Balnis (Dorothy/Buena). The attempt was smothered by Misericordia goalie Jess Anderson for the best of her eight saves in the game.

Stockton held a 6-3 edge in corner kicks but neither team was able to convert on any of its tries. The scoreless tie was the second 0-0 game of the season for the Ospreys as well as the second time that they were shut out.
