STOCKTON SWEEPS ROWAN IN NJAC OPENER

Three-time defending NJAC champion Richard Stockton (7-2, 1-0 NJAC) opened conference play with a 25-13, 25-10, 25-18 sweep of Rowan (4-1, 0-1).

Stephanie Warner (Totowa/ Passaic Valley) led the Ospreys to their third straight win with match highs of 11 kills and four blocks. Laura Hausman (Bethlehem, PA/ Catasauqua) dished 20 assists and Ashley Gubista (Massapequa, NY/Massapequa) scooped 20 digs.

Nikki Binetti paced Rowan with six kills and two blocks. Kelsey Donovan notched team highs of 10 assists and nine digs for the Profs.

Warner sparked Stockton to a 25-13 win in the first set with five kills and Binetti topped Rowan with three kills. Nicole Serekian (Mahwah/Mahwah) slammed three of her six kills in the second set as the Ospreys jumped out to 10-1 lead and cruised to a 25-10 triumph.

Rowan stayed close for most of the third set behind three kills by Sarah Hanrahan, but Warner and Christine Velott (Moorestown/Moorestown) slugged five kills apiece in the final frame and Stockton closed out the match 25-18. The Ospreys added to a pair of ongoing streaks with their 13th consecutive win over an NJAC foe and 12th straight home victory overall.
