The Stockton volleyball team held off Montclair State for a 30-25, 30-28, 26-30, 25-30, 19-17 victory in a back-and-forth NJAC match. After squandering a two-games-to-none lead, the Ospreys staved off six match points and rallied from a 14-9 deficit in the decisive fifth game. Amanda Burkart (Cresskill/Cresskill) led Stockton with a match-high 26 kills plus 20 digs.

Audrey O’Donnell (Bogota/Immaculate Heart) filled the stat sheet with 16 kills, 19 digs, seven blocks and three aces. Christine Aletras (Ridgewood/Ridgewood) finished with 57 assists and 23 digs while Nicole Williams (Williamstown/Williamstown) added 14 kills and a team-high 24 digs.

In the decisive fifth set, Stockton took a 9-8 lead on a kill by Burkart, but Montclair answered with five consecutive points for a 14-9 advantage and match point. The Ospreys fought back with a five-point run, capped by a Williams kill to tie the score at 14. Stockton faced another match point after Montclair State took a 15-14 lead, but the Ospreys battled back to eventually pull ahead 18-17 and close out the victory on a kill by Amanda Manganiello (Cranford/Cranford).
