FOUR OSPREYS EARN NJAC WEEKLY HONORS

Three Richard Stockton cross country runners were rewarded for their strong finishes at the Delaware Invitational with NJAC weekly honors.

Morgan Sinclair (Chadds Ford, PA/Unionville) was named NJAC Women’s Runner of the Week and Caitlyn Kozlowski (Hillsborough/Hillsborough) was chosen NJAC Women’s Rookie of the Week. Jim Codianni (Medford/Shawnee) was selected NJAC Men’s Runner of the Week.

Freshman libero Ashley Gubista (Massapequa, NY/ Massapequa) was named NJAC Volleyball Rookie of the Week for her defensive play in a pair of Stockton victories. Gubista, previously named NJAC Defensive Player of the Week on September 6, was the digs leader for the Ospreys in each match.

The freshman scooped 15 digs against Muhlenberg on September 13 and 20 digs versus Rowan two days later. Gubista ranks second in the NJAC in digs at 5.58 per set.

Sinclair won the Division II/III race at the Delaware Invitational on Saturday for her first career victory. The sophomore crossed finish line first out of 69 runners with a time of 23:54.49 for six kilometers. Sinclair has been Stockton’s top female finisher at all three meets this season.

Kozlowski, a sophomore who is a newcomer to cross country, finished 10th in the Delaware Invitational with a time of 25:37.40 for her best finish of the season.

Codianni led the Stockton men’s squad to the team victory in the Division II/III section of the Delaware Invitational by placing fourth out of 73 runners with a time of 27:25.72 for eight kilometers. The senior recorded his fourth career top-10 finish. Codianni qualified for NJAC All-Conference Second Team honors in 2009.
